  Dr. Flak and his staff are amazing! He's always willing to thoroughly explain your situation, which really helps to put you at ease in stressful circumstances. I snapped my clavicle (collarbone) in half while snowboarding in CO, and I was told that I would not need surgery by the doctors there. When I got back home in The Woodlands, I came to Dr. Flak for a second opinion. After reviewing my X-rays (and taking new X-rays upon my request), he explained to me that, based on the most recent medical studies, he felt I should have my clavicle surgically repaired. I agreed (after searching and finding the exact studies he had referred to), and had my clavicle repaired by Dr. Flak with a titanium plate two days later. Now, about three months after my surgery, I have been cleared to go about my life as normal with no restrictions. I have regained full range-of-motion in my shoulder and am working to regain my strength. On a side note, I never even had to wait in the waiting room for more than 5-10 minutes, which is INCREDIBLE compared to other orthopedic doctors in The Woodlands (specifically Woodlands Sports Medicine Centre). Thank you so much, Dr. Flak! TL;DR Dr. Flak is great. Go to him if you need an orthopedic doctor. Seriously.

  Fractured a shoulder in three places and Dr. Flak was able to restore me to full function without an operation. His wide expertise in orthopedic medicine allowed him to assess and recommend the options and then the final appropriate therapy and rehab for my situation. Fantastic communications skills at all levels of the initial trauma through the follow up visits and coordination of the therapy. His professional and caring approach for my injury and recovery was also well supported by the office staff. I have and will continue to strongly recommend Dr. Flak to others.

  Saw Dr. Flak for a torn ACL and had surgery scheduled within a week. While performing the surgery he also repaired a torn meniscus. When I started physical therapy, and throughout my sessions, the therapist were amazed how far ahead of schedule I was and how superior my performance was to my peers. I highly recommend Dr. Flak, he will take care of you and ensure that you follow the right path to recovery. Additional note: do everything he says to do at home, it will greatly increase your recovery time.
